Entebbe is one of the popular known places in Uganda, in fact, it may be the second after Kampala the Capital city of Uganda. Beaches
These are places usually located along the shores of lakes and people go there to feel the cool associated air and be relieved from stress and fatigue, beaches are characterized with sand and swallow waters so usually when people are there engage in swimming, sun bathing and sand drawning but usually its advised to follow the rules governing the beach stipulated by the beach owners because when you get problems when you are out of there rules like drawning in water, attack by some aquatic species like Crocodiles there are less concerned about that, so always be careful and go by the beach rules plus reading all precaution posters pinned.
Entebbe is mostly gifted with beaches since its lying along the shores of Lake Victoria and that’s why Entebbe is ranked to be more exciting, some of the beaches in Entebbe include Lido beach, Spiner beach, Aero beach, Resort beach, Sports beach, White sand beach, Nabinonya beach, Garuga beach gardens, Water front beach, Anderita beach and Ssese gateway beach, most of these beaches are located along Kampala- Entebbe highway on your way to Entebbe airport near the UN base few kilometres when you are just from Entebbe town heading to the airport.
Kasenyi Landing Site
This is a popular landing site found in the Suburbs of Entebbe, from Kampala or Entebbe drive up to Abayita ababiri and then branch off up to Kasenyi Landing site via a marram road, reaching on this Landing site a lot of people are situated here carrying out different activities which include fishing, boat cruise, charcoal selling, fish sellers, running of different small-scale enterprises which include shops, kiosks, Restaurants, bars and more.
A walk around this landing site is done interacting with most of these people on the site plus a local boat cruise along the Waters of Lake Victoria.
Entebbe Botanical Gardens
This is a big place located on your way to Entebbe, it’s characterized with tropical rain forest, and big tree species used as sheds, big compounds, Swampy areas plus beach areas since it’s also located along the shores of Lake Victoria.
This place is used as a resting place for couples and lovers, hosting of different events like wedding ceremonies, graduation parties, and birthday parties and more, it’s also a good habitat for different bird species so birders usually go there with interest of seeing different bird species in stock.
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
This is a protected area located on Kome group of highlands on the Waters of Lake Victoria, it is located in Mukono district and it was established with aim of providing home to the rescued uncared and Orphaned Chimpanzees.
This place is characterized with thick tropical rain forest comprising of big tree species, Savannah grasslands and Swampy areas, currently over 49 chimpanzee primate species are habituated in this sanctuary which usually reside in these jungles plus the well meshed constructed cages.
The best way of reaching this Sanctuary is by use of a boat since it’s located on the Waters of Lake Victoria and the starting point is in Entebbe – Nakiwogo or if not boat you can go luxuriously by use of air transport means since private charters are always arranged from Entebbe airport or Kajansi airstrip up to this sanctuary, reaching this Sanctuary activities done include Chimpanzee feeding, Care giving and volunteering up to any period of your interest. You can either do day tours to this place or spend some nights and well reserved accommodation facilities are there for you which include permanent self-contained tents.
Uganda Wildlife Education Center
This is Uganda’s one and only conservation center located in the Suburbs of Entebbe along Kampala – Entebbe highway, this place is characterized with tropical rain forests and Savannah grasslands plus beach areas, it is characterized with most of different wildlife primates and Species which include Monkeys, Baboons, Chimpanzees, Wild animals like Rhinoceros, Impala, Elands, Zebras, Buffaloes, Lions, Elephants, and different bird species which include the rare shoe bill, Ostrich, Folks, and more, different aquatic species like Crocodiles, otters and more, Reptiles include snakes like Python, Black cobra, Gabon vipers and more.
All these primates and species are protected in cages such that there are kept in this place without moving. Usually, travelers visit this place with interest of seeing most of these attractions at affordable entry fees which range from $3-$6 USD per person.
Mabamba Swamp
This is a swampy area located in the Suburbs of Entebbe on the shores of Lake Victoria, it is popularly known for hosting different bird species including the rare shoe bill. The best way of reaching this exciting place is by use of a boat since it’s located on the shores of Lake Victoria; birders are the most interested to this place and usually go there with interest of seeing the rare shoe bill.
Lutembe bay Beach
This exciting place is also located in the Suburbs of Entebbe along the shores of Lake Victoria, it’s known for hosting different bird species and usually most travelers visit this place with interest of sighting these uniquely spotted bird species.
