Uganda Uplifts Covid-19 Guidelines
After a period of almost three years (2 and 3 months) the ministry of health in Uganda has decided to uplift covid19 guidelines that was mapped on Entebbe international airport. Before the uplift, travelers that were coming outside of the country were obligated to present covid19 testing results that were taken in the period of 14 days back.
On additional to this, they were also tested on their arrival on the international airport. This followed the measure that was first taken of quarantining, all the incoming travelers for fourteen days to avoid direct contact with the public that would have caused excessive spread of this virus to the population due to it’s speedy nature of spread.
For the out going travelers, the government of Uganda under the ministry of health in cooperation with the ministry of transport, encouraged travelers to first take up all the testing practices and to follow the rules of the country where the travelers were heading.
On appearance to the press on 17/2/2022. Officials from the ministry of health, stressed that after the case study take by the ministry of health, it’s now ok for travelers from outside Uganda not to be tested again at their arrival at the airport if they present their results taken from the county that they are coming from in a period of 72 hours.
